Wrong password in Terminal? You may receive ... an insult or a threat!

The terminal continues to be an essential tool for many Linux users who, with all the momentum that graphical interfaces have taken lately, often solve much faster situations such as updating the system, installing software or other configurations. Those who use it, know the power of the sudo command, with the help of which any changes can be made in the system. Of course, in order for the user to approve those changes, he is asked to enter a password, and when it is typed, no star or dot is displayed, as we are used to when entering passwords.

It often happens that we type the wrong password for " sudo", which is why the command is not executed, and in the Terminal window the message "incorrect password" is displayed , a message that can sometimes become frustrating. But the Terminal has a normally inactive function that instead of displaying the annoying message "incorrect password", offers the user more personal messages, ie small insults or threats. Although these words would upset us if they were said to us by a person, when they are addressed to us by a car, they lower our foreheads a little and maybe make our day more beautiful.

It all depends on how aggressive these messages are. We must confess that those who came up with the idea of implementing such a thing in Linux did not lack humor.

If you want to have a more "humane" relationship with the Terminal and you are willing to accept his insults, do the following: (Ubuntu and derivatives):

- Open a Terminal window

- Write the command sudo visudoand enter the password (correctly, this time)

- Add " Defaults insults" to the file to open

- Press Ctrl+X to exit

You will be asked if you want to save the change. Press the Y (yes) key to save and then the Enter key

Close and reopen the Terminal

Enter the wrong password and enjoy the insults!
