Tiny Core Linux is a very small (10 MB) minimal Linux Desktop. It is based on Linux 2.6 kernel, Busybox, Tiny X, Fltk, and Jwm. The core runs entirely in ram and boots very quickly. It is not a complete desktop nor is all hardware completely supported. It represents only the core needed to boot into a very minimal X desktop typically with wired internet access. Tiny Core joined the list on March 16, 2009, when 1.2 was the current version. Tiny Core 4.2, released December 26, 2011, refactored Tiny Core to be highly modular to provide a foundation for user created desktops and also introduced CorePlus. piCore 6.0 was released January 20, 2015. Tiny Core Linux 6.4.1 was released November 29, 2015. Tiny Core 9.0 was released February 26, 2018.
