Rocky Linux 8.4 RC is not suitable for production use. Upgrading from Rocky Linux 8.3 RC1 to Rocky Linux 8.4 RC1 is not supported, which means it will not be tested or documented.
Rocky Linux is being developed by the community. As such, the release notes reflect changes to upstream packages and those included in the original Rocky Linux 8.3 candidate version.

- The VPN provided by Libreswan now supports TCP encapsulation and security tags for IKEv2.
- The scap-security-guide packages have been rebuilt to version 0.1.54, and OpenSCAP has been rebuilt to version 1.3.4. These updates offer substantial improvements, including: improved memory management,
- The framework now provides integrity checking, and the RPM plugin now records any system update that is managed by either the YUM package manager or the RPM Package Manager.
- Proactive compaction regularly initiates the memory compaction activity before an allocation request is made. Therefore, latency for specific memory allocation requests is reduced.
- A new implementation of the memory controller for control group technology is now available in Rocky Linux 8.4. As a result, you may notice a significant decrease in the total kernel memory footprint and positive effects on memory fragmentation.
- The space namespace function is available in Rocky Linux 8.4. This feature is suitable for changing the date and time in Linux containers. Clock settings in the container after restoration from a control point are also possible now.
- Rocky Linux 8.4 supports the kernel error detection and correction (EDAC) module set in the 8th and 9th generation Intel Core processors.
- A persistent Pacemaker resource agent maintains status data can detect failures asynchronously and can immediately inject a failure into the Pacemaker without waiting for the next monitoring interval.

You can convert to Rocky Linux 8.3, Centos 8.3 or 8.4, RHEL 8.3 or 8.4 and Alma 8.3 or 8.4 to Rocky Linux 8.4 using migrate2rocky .
