zfs-2.1.0, compatible with Linux 3.10 - 5.13 and FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE +, updates the OpenZFS documentation for Linux and FreeBSD, and comes with improved performance as well as many other minor fixes.
Among the novelties of this version:
- Create pools using a new version distributed by RAIDZ, which allows dramatically faster resilver times using integrated hot spare parts. Full redundancy can be restored to the pool in a fraction of the time normally required to make a complete disk replacement. # 10102
- The new compatibility property allows administrators to specify the set of features that should be enabled in the pool. This fine-grained control facilitates the creation of portable pools and the maintenance of pool compatibility between OpenZFS versions and between platforms. # 11468 # 11861
- you can collect pool statistics with the zpool influxdb command in an InfluxDB time series database for analysis and monitoring. # 10786
Changes to zpool / zfs zpool
commands created -u - Prevents automatic mounting of file systems.
zpool history -i - The pool history now includes how long each command took for performance analysis.
zpool status - Informs users about any disks that use a non-optimal block size.
zfs send --skip-missing | -s - Skip missing snapshots when sending replication streams.
zfs rename -u - Rename a file system without remounting.
