Debian 8 LTS comes to an end five years after its initial release on April 26, 2015

The Debian LTS support team announces that support for Debian 8 ended on June 30, 2020, five years after its initial release on April 26, 2015.

Debian will not provide additional security updates for Debian 8.

The LTS team will prepare you to switch to Debian 9, which is the current version. The LTS team took over the support of the security team on July 6, 2020, while the endpoint update will be released on July 18, 2020.

Debian 9 will also receive long-term support for five years from its initial release, ending on June 30, 2022. Supported architectures remain amd64, i386, armel and armhf, arm64.
